Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Office Clerk with basic accounting knowledge to join our clients team - a leader in the food distribution industry. The ideal candidate will assist with daily office operations and provide support for accounts receivable (AR) and accounts payable (AP) functions. This role requires someone who can multitask efficiently and contribute to the smooth functioning of our administrative and accounting processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Administrative Duties:

  • Perform general office tasks, including filing, data entry, scanning, and photocopying.
  • Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence, including mail and emails.
  • Answer and route phone calls; assist with customer and vendor inquiries.
  • Maintain and organize office supplies and documentation.

Accounts Receivable (AR) Duties:

  • Process customer invoices and payments.
  • Maintain accurate records of accounts receivable transactions.
  • Assist in generating AR reports and account reconciliations.
  • Follow up with customers on outstanding balances and payment status.

Accounts Payable (AP) Duties:

  • Review and process vendor invoices for accuracy and approval.
  • Assist with data entry for accounts payable transactions.
  • Verify vendor statements and address discrepancies promptly.
  • Help prepare payments and maintain vendor records.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in accounting or business administration is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of AR and AP functions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with accounting software or ERP systems.
  • Previous experience in a food distribution or similar industry
